  • Saturday, September 07, 2024
  • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • (Legislative Mall) 410 Legislative Ave, Dover, DE

Registration is closed

Routes begin and end on Legislative Mall, 410 Legislative Ave., Dover, DE and are 16, 25, 50, 62 or 100 miles through peaceful, flat(!), Amish countryside.

To promote safety and to ensure that rest stops are not overwhelmed, with everyone finishing when the food and entertainment will be starting, a staggered start with police escort for each group will take place to send you on your way. Riders are expected to be ready to ride with your group:

7:00 am 100 mile riders, reaching the pie stop between 10:00-10:30 am & predicted to return between 1:00-3:00 pm
7:30 am 62 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 10:45 am & predicted to return between 12:30-2:30 pm
8:00 am 50 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 11:15 am & predicted to return between 12:00-2:00 pm
8:30 am 25 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 10:00 am & predicted to return between 11:00 am -1:00 pm
9:00 am 16 mile riders, reaching the pie stop around 10:15 am & predicted to return between 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Motor vehicles are not restricted on the routes of the Amish Country Bike Tour. Follow all rules of the road. Never cross a yellow line, not even to pass. This is a ride not a race. See the information sheet for riders here. It is recommended that you print or have a copy saved to help you through your day!

Up to 5 rest stops are included, depending upon distance: Harvest Ridge Winery (MaryDel), Painted Stave Distillery (Smyrna), Felton Little League (Felton) and Emanuel AME Church (Hartly), depending on distance, but all routes stop at the Amish Schoolhouse (Dover), where you’ll enjoy our famous, fresh, locally-baked pie.

Everyone stops at the Amish School House on Rose Valley Road for pie. It’s the only rest stop where all routes will travel. Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will be closing the road to traffic off of Route 8 to the north, just as they have done in previous year’s. Thru traffic (Bike Support, our volunteers, photographers, deliveries) will only be able to access the area via Hazlettville Road to the south.

Bike Traffic will enter off Yoder and make a right onto Rose Valley. The schoolhouse will be on the right and cyclists should exit off the road onto the property. Do not drop your bike where you stop. There will be parking areas designated for that purpose. The map outlining bicycle traffic makes ingress and egress for cyclists much easier. Please familiarize yourself with it and follow the path laid out for you.

Following the bike tour, everyone returns to Legislative Mall for your catered lunch (included in your ride purchase) from one of our food truck partners and non-alcoholic beverages, adult beverages (with purchased tickets), entertainment with Glass Onion, DJ, merchandise sales and a variety of vendors. All the extra fun (except your piece of pie and ride) is held on Legislative Mall (410 Legislative Ave) in historic downtown Dover, Delaware. Most vendors will accept credit/debit cards and cash.
